Our team
The success of the Tranzit’s activities is due to the Agency’s partnership with a wide network of Russian and international experts, who we have been cooperating with over the last ten years. For each project, depending on its profile and needs we bring together a team of specialists. The following people are involved into the Tranzit’s activity on a regular basis:

Yulia Bardun – founding director
Graduated from the Department of Economics at the Kaliningrad State University (1998) and The Central European University, Department of History (1999, Budapest, MA). In 1996-2004 worked at the Kaliningrad State University as a manager of projects aimed at development of research and education in the field of humanities. Since 2000, has been implementing various initiatives aimed at overcoming cultural isolation of the Kaliningrad region, consolidation and development of local professional community, promoting innovative forms of activity in the field of arts and culture as well advocating for culture as a resource for local development. In 2002 in cooperation with colleagues founded Tranzit. Produced a number of publications on regional cultural policy, including Atlas of Cultural Resources of the Kaliningrad Region (2008). Since 2004, works at the Kaliningrad branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts.
Ilya Dementiev – vice-director
Ph.D. in History (2004). Graduated from the Department of History at the Kaliningrad State University (1997). Since 2005 Assistant Professor at the I.Kant State University of Russia. Certified trainer of the international network Education for Democracy (EditNET). Since the late 1990s has been involved into programs aimed at the development of civil society, modernization of education, professional training of managers in the field of culture and education. Director of the Kaliningrad regional youth NGO Centre Youth for Freedom of Speech (since 1998), vice-director of Tranzit. Member of the Kaliningrad region’s Governor’s Council on Culture (since 2005). Expert in a number of projects on cultural and educational policy. Author of 25 publications on social issues, cultural and educational policy. Co-author of the Art-Guide. Kaliningrad/Königsberg now (2006) and Atlas of Cultural Resources of the Kaliningrad region (2008).
Oksana Boytsova – project coordinator
Graduated from the Department of History at the Kaliningrad State University (2003). Since 2004 works as a project manager at Tranzit as well as actively participates in the activities of Youth for Freedom of Speech. Certified trainer of the international network Education for Democracy (EditNET). In 2006-2007 attended the training program for cultural managers organized by Tranzit and the European Cultural Foundation. In 2009-2010 attends the course Arts Administration and the Cultural Policy at the Goldsmith College, University of London.
