Closing ceremony of the Summer Camp "Vester-Balga-2010" took place in the village of Veseloye, Bagrationovsk district, Kaliningrad region. According to the tradition the camp was located at the ruins of the Castle of the Teutonic Order Balga – the ХIII century monument, which the camp participants usually take care of.

The camp, run by the NGO Agency for Support of Cultural Initiatives “Tranzit” and secondary school №28 of Kaliningrad, has been organized since 2005 due to the energy and efforts of Alexaner Erokhin, the director of the school №28. Financial support this year was provided by the Committee for Education of the city of Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad regional Agency for Youth Affairs and the groups of companies "Vester", while Centre «Youth for Freedom of Speech» supported the camp technically and methodologically.

The program of the camp included leadership and creativity workshops, sport competitions and actions aimed at cleaning and maintaining the territory of the Castle Balga. Besides, this year, part of the works in the vicinity of the Castle was organized in the framework of the project "Developing Volunteer Movement for Preservation of WWII Monuments Among Schoolchildren" supported by the Charitable Foundation of the "LUKOIL" Company.

The camp was arranged in two ten-day shifts. Total 70 children took part in it. Based on the results of the camp a new exposition of the museum at School №28 will be arranged.

Organizers, participants and representatives of the donors highlighted the success of the camp and agreed to continue cooperation in the coming year.
