The Museum’s collection presents the history of creation and development of the Baltic Navy, its role in the history of Russia and other countries, diplomatic and humanitarian missions, interaction with international fleets. The Museum studies and classifies the existing collection, makes acquisitions and cooperates closely with museums and cultural institutions of the Kaliningrad region, the Russian Federation and the Baltic states in the field of exhibition activities and historic information exchange.

The recent Museum’s achievements are as follows: during the last 2 years (2007-2008) the number of exhibition spaces doubled (from 450m2 up to 970m2), the number of visitors doubled as well (from 11000 in 2007 up to 22000 in 2008), the direct revenues increased fivefold. The strategic plan for the Museum’s development has been developed, the personnel structure has been optimized in accordance with up-to-date requirements, contacts with marine museums in the Baltic countries have been established.

The Museum of the Baltic Navy is interested to establish contacts and cooperate with marine, military and historical museums in order to implement joint projects in various areas within the scope of its main activities, to exchange temporary exhibitions and experience in the field of cutting-edge museum technologies, video and photo documentary materials, to participate in international research conferences, symposiums, etc., to organize internships for its staff.
