Foundation’s activities are aimed at the reconstruction, restoration, preservation and cultural use of the fort №1 Stein, a monument of architecture of the XIX century, as well as at an in-depth comprehensive study of the object and its due maintenance and the attraction of investments for its regeneration and further development. The foundation conducts
excursions and holds workshops that go in line with the history of the fort, organizes reconstructions of military and historical events, historical costumes and crafts. Music and other artistic events are also held on fort’s premises.
The foundation gets support and appreciation on the part of the region’s active population and is increasingly becoming a local centre of solidarity, interaction and cooperation within the local community, draws the attention of artistic people, attracts young people and facilitates the formation of positive and constructive perception of the world among
them. It also should be mentioned that the foundation presents an alternative, non-governmental way of successful preservation of historical heritage.
The foundation maintains partnership relations with the parties concerned in Lithuania, Germany, UK and seeks to continue expanding the network of its partners in such spheres as:
- historical reconstruction in the broad sense of this term (crafts, clothes, weapons, way of life, events, etc.);
- cultural, music, artistic actions helping to assimilate and interpret monuments of historical heritage by getting them involved in contemporary life, but by no means destroying or changing them;
- ecological projects and alternative small size power sources;
- studies of the ecosystems and biocenosis of architectural monuments and the development of a life model for large historical constructions, contemporary society and the environment;
- volunteer movement in historical, cultural and ecological spheres.
